Parks and Civic Lands

Gibsons has 20 parks, beach accesses, trails and natural areas for public use and enjoyment.

Please note that all dogs must be on leash and under control when using public lands.  An off leash area for friendly dogs is available at the area known as White Tower Park located behind the Aquatic Facility.  Unfriendly dogs must remain on leash and under control at all times.  Everyone is responsible for their pet companion, and must clean up any waste that is deposited on public lands (failure to do so is subject to loss of use and a fine for offenders).

Parks

We plan and maintain parks and open spaces ranging from local neighbourhood parks to community parks within the Town of Gibsons boundaries.  Many parks include amenities such as playground equipment, sport courts and fields, washrooms and seating.

Community Parks

Our community parks provide for facilities, organized sport, events and leisure activities.  Please refer to the map for locations.

The civic grounds and area known as White Tower Park house the curling rink and aquatic facilities.  The open space is used for a Farmer’s Market and the trails and ponds located in the natural area provide for nature walks.

Brothers Park is an active community park that serves the whole Coast.  Organized sports such as baseball and soccer are scheduled in this park, which also houses a regional community recreation facility and a skate park.

Arrowhead Park is named according to it’s shape and is home to a nature trail, open space, Senior Citizens Hall and Jack & Jill Preschool.

Dougall Park is dedicated as a family space and is home to the tennis courts, covered performance stage, picnic gazebo, tot playground and the Kinsmen Hall.

Winegarden Park is the setting for the waterfront event area.  Washrooms and a performance stage are available.  Music in the Landing is featured here.

Neighbourhood Parks

Throughout the community’s neighbourhoods, small neighbourhood parks for neighbourhood benefit are in place.
